300 Summer Street is a live/work building. There are no work only studios.


The applicant reserve (wait list) is intended for people interested in purchasing a unit at
300 Summer Street. At this time the building is at full occupancy. To be added to
the list you must be an Eligible Artist and plan to make 300 Summer Street
your primary residence
.


The 300 Summer St Co-op bylaws defines an Eligible Artist as a person who:

(a) is a visual artist;

(b) has a recent body of work, documented by slides, portfolio, film, video, etc.;

(c) has a demonstrated need for studio space (due either to a desire to own rather than rent, instability of present occupancy, or loss of a studio through displacement); and

(d) satisfies at least one of the following three criteria:

  1. (i) has an education in a medium of the arts;

  2. (ii) has a record of exhibitions or gallery affiliation; or

  3. (iii) can demonstrate with letters of recommendation from individuals recognized in the art community that the applicant is a serious working artist.


You will be added to the list if you meet these criteria and send in the following:


1. Download and fill out our questionnaire.


2. A current resume.


3. Five slides, jpegs (under 1MB each on CD labeled with your name), or high quality printed images of your work. Please include a slide/image list with artist's name, date, dimensions and media. All 5 of the works depicted must have been completed within 3 years of the date of your application.


As an alternative to slides and print images, you may send a video to represent your work. If sending a video, please also include printed still images for easy reference.
